Bureau of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Inspection

The Florida Bureau of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Inspection (LP Gas) is charged with the safety regulation of liquefied petroleum gas in Florida wherever this product is stored, distributed, transported and utilized. The bureau's public responsibility for LP gas safety begins when the product enters the state borders and continues until the product is safely consumed by the public. The bureau is charged with licensing, inspection, enforcement, accident investigation and training in carrying out the statutory mandates of Chapter 527, Florida Statutes.

Bureau Profile
The Bureau of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Inspection is currently staffed with 23 personnel, including 11 LP Gas Field Inspectors. Staff is assigned to various regions of the state, and all activities are coordinated through the Tallahassee headquarters office. Tallahassee staff is divided into four work areas - administration, training & examinations, inspections, and licensing. These four areas are assigned to carry out the inspection, investigation and examination mandates of Chapter 527, Florida Statutes, and enforcement of adopted rules, regulations and codes.
