Division of Standards
Overview
The Division of Standards protects consumers from unfair and unsafe business practices across a wide range of products, including gasoline, brake fluid, antifreeze, liquefied petroleum gas, amusement rides and weighing and measuring devices. The Division of Standards also investigates complaints alleging violations of Florida's Motor Fuel Marketing Practices Act, Section 526.301 through 526.313, Florida Statues.
Thousands of Florida consumers are affected daily by the activities of the Division. Through our stringent inspection and enforcement programs, we ensure quality products for automobile owners, safe transportation, handling and use of propane, and safe amusement rides for families, tourists and other thrill-seekers at Florida ’s many parks, fairs, and carnivals. Also, by ensuring that weighing and measuring devices in Florida are accurate and calibrated, the Division gives consumers the confidence they are receiving the full value for the products they purchase.
