Our Mission

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Fruit and Vegetables, Bureau of Technical Control, plays a vital role in assuring the accuracy of inspection services performed on a variety of commodities. Working with the Bureau of Inspection, the Bureau of Technical Control is responsible for the installation, calibration, repair, and accuracy of all measuring systems and instruments used in the inspection process, including an automated citrus juice testing system Brix Acid Unit (BAU) as well as other commodity automation needs. Additionally, the Bureau of Technical Control compiles and publishes reports generated from inspection data on a timely basis for industry leaders, growers, processors and other parties involved.
